Article #218 - Falulty twinax cable or display station
Updated:02-17-2006 - Views: 481
I think I may have a faulty cable or display station. What can I do to test this?

To test the cable or line, enter twinax monitor mode on an I-O terminal by holding the spacebar down during boot up. Once in the restricted portion of the setup screen press the letter (T). Displayed on the screen is a "map" of the devices on this single twinax cable. A counter will increment as devices talk back and forth with the AS/400. If a device address doesn't respond to a poll or reports an error, a cable, pigtail, or device is suspect. (Remember, the display being used for the test will not respond to a poll).

To exit and return to your session press (enter).
