| When the ready light is flashing the DTR light will not be on and the controller will be in an error condition. The controller has detected a problem with something attached to one of its ports or a problem with one of the twinax controller cards. Usually it's a problem with one of the cables or a twinax device attached to the controller.
Check the five lights on the MPIC card at the back of the controller and refer to the manual on page 5-8 to determine which twinax card is experiencing the problem. To determine if you have a cable problem or card problem remove the cables from the offending twinax card and reboot the controller. If the controller boots up to a solid ready, then you have a cable or twinax device problem. If the ready light continues to blink you have a card problem. Power off the controller and remove the top cover, remove and reseat the twinax cards being certain not to mix up the cards. If after booting up the controller and the problem has not been resolved, contact I-O Technical Support for repair or replacement of the controller. Note: On the 8494 the ready light blinks so fast it may appear to be solid. If the ready light is blinking then the DTR light will not be on. Also, before removing any twinax pigtails from the twinax cards label each cable so there can be no mistake when returning each cable to the original relative position. |
