Article #25 - Changing my IP address scheme.
Updated:02-17-2006 - Views: 534
Why, when I am changing my IP addressing scheme, can I no longer see my I-O PrintServer (PS) with the Configuration Utility (CU).

***** Solution *****

Restoring Factory Defaults will most always resolve this issue,(realize restoring factory defaults will clear any and all user selected values currently in the PS), however there are occasions when a hub or switch may be blocking the UDP broadcast.

These instances may require using a crossover cable. This requires connecting the I-O PS to the NIC card in a stand-alone PC with CU installed. Start CU and make the desired changes. Save and exit as normal. The PS now has the desired IP address and can be put back on the LAN.

Also, the first two octets of the PS IP address must match the IP address of the PC's NIC card in order for the CU to see the PS'er.
