Article #317 - Constant printer error being reported.

A recent customer using an I-O 57xx Gateway product was constantly being told by the 57xx that the printer had an error. Yet on checking the printer there was no error condition, all paper trays had paper and the printer was in a ready mode.

The problem turned out to be self-inflicted by the user. While all trays had paper installed and the printer was in fact in a ready condition, one paper tray had the paper size switch set to Legal size, but the actual paper installed was letter. Changing the paper size switch on the paper tray from legal to letter solved the problem.
