Article #377 - Do I use 1B or < when redefing Fonts?
Updated:04-27-2006 - Views: 319

When redefining fonts using an I-O PrintServer the escape character is either a 1B or the < character, depending on how the font is being redefined.

If the new font string is being input into the Font String field inside the Configuration Utility use 1B. For example:
1B283132551B etc...

If you are sending down the new font string from an AS/400 command line printscreen, use the < character. For example:
&%I33,0,11(<(12U< etc.
