Power on the LRPC and wait for the LRPC to finish the boot sequence. Then power on the printer. The printer will then make contact with the AS/400 through the LRPC and establish a printer session. A customer who did not initially follow this sequence AFTER running the LRPC attached IPDS printer out of paper found the AS/400 was in a message wait state but there was actually no message waiting to be answered. Until the customer powered off both the LRPC and the Printer and then followed the power on sequence as shown above the AS/400 and printer would not communicate. |
