When installing the I-O Configuration Utility and configuring an I-O print server, the XP's firewall will need to be either turned off or some ports added. For those unfamiliar with this operation, the procedure is as follows: 1. Click on Start 2. Click on Control Panel 3. Click on Security Center 4. Click on Windows Firewall 5. Click on Exceptions tab 6. Click on Add Port tab 7. In the Name Block enter "Remote Config" 8. In the Port Number Block enter in "1110" and click UDP 9. Click "OK" 10. Do the same for "Remote Config", "1111" TCP "IPDS", "5001" "Daytime Port", "13" "Non-IPDS", "23" "LPR", "515" Not all is needed, but doing so now will reduce the chance of configuration problems later when options are added. 11. Click on "OK". 12. Exit out of Security Center. 13. Exit out of Control Panel.
