Zebra label printers use a specific language called ZPL to print a label. ZPL requires a format prefix as a trigger character. The default setting on the printer is 5Eh or a ^ (carat). If the label format from the host is using a ? (logical not, AAh) the label will go to the printer and get flushed. There are two different ways you can accomplish a successful print. Change the format prefix in the printers configuration to ? AAh, or go to the I-O Configuration Utility and in the AS/400 SCS Printing tab | Advanced | change the Host Language from US/Canada to Multinational. The opposite is also true, if the printer is configured for a ? AAh and the host is sending a ^ 5Eh, changing the host language to US/Canada will also resolve the issue. |
