The cursor blink function can only be turned off/on in certain application screens via the keyboard using the ALT ALT X commands. If total cursor blink disable is desired, perform the following steps. From another display on a command line: 1. Type WRKCFGSTS *DEV (device name), Enter. 2. Enter option 2 (Vary off device). 3. Enter option 8 to Work with description. 4. Enter option 2 (Change). 5. Cursor down to "Allow blinking cursor" and change "*YES" to "*NO" and press Enter. 6. Enter option 8 (Work with status). 7. In the device description field enter option 1 (Vary on). If the display is a TC2677, the terminal will automatically vary on after the entry is made and the "Enter key" is pressed in Step 5. 8. If the display is a TC2677 the cursor will still be blinking on the sign on screen. Press "Alt Alt X". The cursor will now be solid in all screens. |
