Article #465 - Unable to print from Windows Vista
Updated:11-20-2007 - Views: 275

If you are unable to print to a Windows Vista printer, you will need to check the Vista Firewall for proper configuration.

Either turn off the firewall, or if you desire to have the Firewall turned on, you will need to open ports 13 (daytime) and 515 (lpr), these are both tcp ports.

After opening these ports, go to the Control Panel and select Uninstall Program.
Under Task - Click on Turn Windows Features On/ Off.
Check the box for Simple TCPIP Services (ie, echo, daytime, etc) and click OK.
This will take a few minutes to process, afterward, Reboot your PC.
