Instructions for assigning a static IP address to an I-O Print Server.
Once the PS has been assigned an IP address, and any other configuration changes are made to reflect the attached printer and desired method of communicating with the AS/400 (Tn5250, SNA or AnyNet), the printer attached to the I-O PS will function as desired, printing from both the LAN and AS/400. It is important to note that the I-O PS must print a configuration report to the attached or target printer in order to successfully print from the AS/400. The only exception to this is when a specialty printer such as a thermal barcode printer or an embosser is the target printer. If attempts to establish communication between the print server and PCU or CU are unsuccessful, restoring factory defaults should resolve the issue. Restoring defaults is accomplished by holding down the mode button for approximately 15 seconds after applying power to the unit. After the reset, scan the local subnet to show the device in the PCU or CU window. |
